The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work at The University of Manchester welcomes applications from prospective students interested in pursuing the history of nursing and midwifery to PhD level.
Current projects
- Role conflict amongst Republican and Nationalist nurses during the Spanish Civil War, 1936-1939

Funding
- Mona Grey Prize
Prize, worth £250, awarded for the best PhD proposal submitted in any given year
- Monica Baly Bursary
Funding to a maximum of £1,000 for projects on the history of nursing (and midwifery or health visiting, if the applicant is a member of the Royal College of Nursing)
