Social work at Manchester
The University of Manchester has a well-established history of providing excellent social work education, training and innovative research.
At the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work, we offer a postgraduate pre-qualifying social work course and a range of post-qualifying courses and research programmes.
Course approval status
Our MA in Social Work is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). This means that graduating students are eligible to apply for registration as a social worker.
The course has also received endorsement from The College of Social Work (TCSW), which is a marker of its quality. Both HCPC and TCSW regularly inspect the course provision to ensure that standards continue to meet the status of approval.
