Long-term conditions and self care
Many people live with long-term conditions that cannot, at present, be cured but can be controlled by medication and other therapies. Self care is an important contributor to their continued well being. Supporting people with long-term conditions is a major health care priority. The purpose of our research is to improve the quality of experiences and health outcomes of people living with long-term conditions.
Our aims
The research group aims:
- To develop interventions to support self care
- To enhance the delivery and organisation of services to support self care
- To involve people with long-term conditions, their carers, nurses, doctors and other service providers in research

Each theme is linked to a cross-cutting research theme within the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work:
