  • MA (full-time)
    UK/EU students (per annum): £5,000
    International students (per annum): £12,300

The fees quoted above will be fully inclusive for the course tuition, administration and computational costs during your studies.

All fees for entry will be subject to yearly review and incremental rises per annum are also likely over the duration of courses lasting more than a year for UK/EU students (fees are typically fixed for International students, for the course duration at the year of entry). For general fees information please visit: postgraduate fees . Always contact the department if you are unsure which fee applies to your qualification award and method of attendance.

Scholarships/sponsorships:

The Higher Education Funding Council funds student places and the General Social Care Council contributes funds for particular purposes such as developing service-user involvement in all aspects of programme delivery. As part of its drive to recruit social workers, the government provides student bursaries for students resident in England. These are administered by the NHS Business Services Authority on behalf of the GSCC.

Scholarships

NHS Business Services Authority confirmed on the 23 November 2011 that a Bursary, for students normally resident in England, will be available for students entering the programme in 2012. This provides a contribution towards tuition fees, nominal living expenses and transport costs for placements.

At present the amount of the bursary for 2012 is yet to be confirmed. Students in receipt of a bursary will, at the point of registration, be expected to pay to the University any difference between tuition fees and the bursary contribution to fees. The bursary contribution to tuition fees in 2011 was £3,732. Therefore if this remains at the same level for 2012 entrants, students in receipt of the bursary would be expected to pay the difference of £1,268 per annum to the University.

Applicants should apply for a bursary when they accept our offer of a place on the programme (either firm or insurance). Please note that international applicants and those normally resident in Wales, Scotland, Northern and Southern Ireland are not eligible to receive a bursary.

Number of places/applicants: 70 places.
