Tour of the School
The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work moved to the new purpose-built Jean McFarlane Building, part of University Place complex at the end of 2007.
The Jean McFarlane Building, incorporates two high spec clinical skills labs, state-of-the-art teaching facilities and a range of comfortable work spaces for students.
Students are able to learn a range of clinical skills in the well equipped clinical skills laboratories housed within the School.
Our excellent Midwifery programme is based on a philosophy of care that enables students to learn to work in partnership with women and their families to provide care that will meet their individual needs. For details, see: Midwifery (BMidwif)
The School has successfully developed and delivered a range of practice-focused, multi-professional postgraduate taught programmes in mental health. For details of the pathways available see: Postgraduate taught courses
Undergraduates are taught using a wide variety of formats including key note lectures, small group seminars and skills practice in the clinical and interpersonal skills labs. Teaching is delivered by leading academic, research and practice staff, many working at the forefront of research and practice.
